CHATHAM, Mass. - Five Cape Cod beaches were closed to swimmers Sunday for Labor Day weekend after scientists spotted two more great white sharks - bringing the total to four.
Officials at North Beach, Lighthouse Beach, South Beach and Hardings Beach in Chatham and Nauset Beach in Orleans hung red "no swimming" signs that were in effect through today.
State officials also warned swimmers at other area beaches to stay on the lookout for sharks.
