Jesse Jackson Awards Roland Martin

DC-based CNNer Roland Martin has been named "Broadcaster Of The Year" by Rainbow Push Coalition.

Martin will be presented with the award by Jesse Jackson at the 10th annual "Creating Opportunity" conference in Atlanta.

Roland Martin has finally broke through as a weekly host with his very own Sunday morning political show on TV One -- 11am eastern time each and every Sunday. The Program began on October 4th with special guest Vice-President Joe Biden.

Roland Martin was a very intrumental political analyst during the 2008 Presidential campaign for CNN, where the eventual winner was the first Black President of the United States.

Roland Martin also replaced Tavis Smiley as a commentator on the National Syndicated Radio One/Reach Media-owned Tom Joyner morning show.
