WASHINGTON – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Representative Lois Capps, Co-Chair of the House Nursing Caucus, HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Administrator Dr. Mary Wakefield and HHS Assistant Secretary for Health, Dr. Howard K. Koh, will hold a press conference call on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:20 a.m. EDT to announce new investments to increase the number of primary care health professionals, such as primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, and public health workers.
