FEC Clears Sean Hannity Of Improper Contributions

The Federal Election Commission has cleared Sean Hannity and his radio syndicator, Clear Channel's Premiere, of charges that they made improper campaign contributions.

Hannity sent an e-mail urging 43,000 Hannity.com fans to contribute to the political campaign of a friend - John Gomez of New York - who was running for Congress, complete with a "donate now" link.

By a vote of 3-2, the FEC ruled that Hannity's actions constituted a "media exemption," available to talk show hosts, newspapers that endorse candidates, and websites...
