Radio One Increases Ownership Of TV One

Lanham-based urban radio giant Radio One now owns a larger portion of its TV One cable network - 44.6% up from 36.8%.
A few years back, to get carriage for his his start-up cable service focused on adult African-Americans, CEO Alfred Liggins years ago had to give up pieces of it to the cable companies. He just pulled off a $119 million private debt offering, which increases Radio One's ownership stake in the TV unit.
There was some money left over from the debt offering, and that will be used to buy back DirecTV's 12.4% interest in TV One....
