FCC Approves CBS Radio-Entercom Merger
Story by Inside Radio
The Federal Communications Commission has approved the merger of CBS Radio and Entercom, the combination that will result in the creation of radio’s second-largest group.
The approval is based on the condition that Entercom spins off or places in a trust a total of 19 stations.
It also gives the company a six-month waiver that will allow Entercom to own one additional radio station in the San Francisco and Miami markets where CBS-owned television stations trip a mandated radio-TV cross-ownership limit.
