NAACP: Majority-Black town SAVED from hostile takeover

The NAACP has successfully SAVED the majority Black town of Mason, Tennessee from a hostile state takeover!

The story of Mason, TN is one that’s all too familiar in this country.

A small majority Black town in a majority white state elected a strong slate of Black leaders.

Then, these leaders fought to bring economic revitalization to the area (in Mason’s case, a new multi-billion dollar Ford Motor Company plant).

But the state decided to step in to dissolve the town, absorb the gains, and take over their finances.

Let us be clear: that was a BLATANTLY racially-biased power grab!

The NAACP took immediate action to stand with residents and ensure they had the support and protection they needed! Now the town has been handed a HISTORIC victory.

The truth is that Mason is just the tip of the iceberg, Black communities across America are targeted and penalized by states hell bent on sabotaging Black success.
