Radio One rolls the dice beginning December 8, the date the $1.4 billion MGM National Harbor Casino/Hotel opens just across the Potomac River from Washington DC.

Suburban Maryland-based Radio One is investing about $40 million into the project, because its Alfred Liggins believes it’s both a solid business investment and a logical tie-in for his D.C. stations. Radio One gets 1% of the new operation’s revenues plus access to its entertainment facilities.

It will also benefit from advertising placed by MGM National Harbor on Radio One stations like urban AC “Majic 102.3” WMMJ and urban WKYS/93.9.
Alfred Liggins told a recent conference call he believes his company’s share of revenues in 2017 “will be significant.”
