Fired Opie and Anthony host Anthony Cumia: "I Won’t Apologize"

In a middle of the night appearance on Fox News Channel, for the first time fired Sirius XM Radio personality Anthony Cumia has spoken about the incident that led to his dismissal. “It wasn’t racist,” he told Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld about his Twitter rant viewed by his employer as racially-charged.

The postings attacked an African American woman who whacked him after he snapped several with his smartphone of her walking on the street. Cumia called his firing a “kneejerk reaction” by Sirius XM and says there wasn’t even any “outrage” calling for his head. “I will never apologize for this,” Cumia said. “I didn’t do anything wrong — this is exactly who I am.” Cumia has said he’ll start his own web-based show. Meantime former show partners Gregg Hughes and Jim Norton will return to their show today for the first time since Cumia’s firing. Their contract expires in October.
