AFL-CIO's Richard Trumka defends Senator Barack Obama for President

The above link was sent by my cousin Larry in Los Angeles. It is a speech made by the Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO Richard Trumka. Trumka speaks about a colleague from his home town in Pennsylvania that to this date refuses to vote for a Black man. Trumka addressed the United Steel Workers about this particular racial attitude pervasive throughout America. Despite Senator Obama's commitment to the worker of Pennsylvania and Obama's opponents lack of committment to the Labor force race still matters to many White laborers. These laborers would rather be on the road of being laid off, paid lower wages, and continue to be charged hire prices everywhere, than to vote for a Black man. People like this would rather be unemployed, nill and void, home foreclosed, and unable to send the next generation to college...than to vote for a Black man. Incredible!

Trumka attempts to educate the majority White USW crowd that Sen. Barack Obama is the only candidate that will stand up for their families, jobs, and improving their kid's education. Trumka states: "Forget what color Obama is, McCain is definitely not on our side."
